RiddleHouses is free to play, with no account or sign-up. By using it, you agree to these terms — if something here doesn't work for you, the only recourse we can offer is to stop using the site.
The five-houses logic puzzle RiddleHouses is built around is a classic, decades-old brain teaser with no single known author — it's often informally called “Einstein's Riddle,” though there's no real evidence he wrote it. The puzzle format is public domain; the RiddleHouses name, logo, and this particular implementation are not.
The “AI Hint” feature uses Google's Gemini to generate a suggestion based on your current board. Like any AI output, it can occasionally be wrong, unhelpful, or contradict a clue you've already placed — treat it as a nudge, not a verified answer.
Anything you send through the “Feedback & Suggestions” form may be used to fix bugs, prioritize features, or improve the game — including being quoted, in a private GitHub issue, when discussing the change it led to.
The “Buy a coffee” option is a voluntary donation, not a purchase — it doesn't unlock any feature, content, or service. Donations are made directly through the listed third-party payment method (Monobank, a bank card, PayPal, or USDT) and, once sent, can't be refunded through RiddleHouses itself; any refund would have to go through that payment provider.
Don't attempt to disrupt the site (scraping it aggressively, attacking it, or trying to break the feedback form's spam protection), and don't use it for anything illegal.
RiddleHouses is provided “as is,” with no guarantee it' ll be available, error-free, or uninterrupted — this is a personal project maintained in spare time, not a commercial product with an SLA.
RiddleHouses is operated from Ukraine. These terms don't take away any statutory rights you have under the law of your own country. If a specific part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable where you are, the rest still stands.
If these terms change meaningfully, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change.
